mc.net - When SERVICE Matters



CUTEFTP CONFIGURATION

mc.net allows up to 20 Mb of web space for your personal web site. In order to move the pages and images you created you will need an FTP program. The FTP program represented here is CuteFTP.

1. Launch Cute FTP.
2. Click File, Select Site Manager.
3. Highlight General FTP Sites, Click the New button.



4. Select and Right Click on "new site", select rename, and enter in a name for your site.
5. Label for site = user selected name for site(auto filled).
6. FTP Host Address = user.mc.net.
7. FTP site User Name = mc.net user name(@mc.net e-mail address)
8. FTP site Password = mc.net user password.
9. FTP site connection port = 21.
10. Login type = Normal
11. Click the Connect button.




12. Click the OK button on the login messages box.
13. Select the right hand side (Once selected, it will turn blue).
14. Click the Make New Directory button.




15. Name your directory public_html.



16. Double click the public_html folder.
17. Select the appropriate file.
18. Click the Upload button.




19. Your selected file will now appear on the right hand side.
20. Done.

Now the files should now be on the "Remote Site", if they are your done!!!! Access your web site by typing the following in your browser: http://user.mc.net/~yourusername

Helpful Hints

1. Name you Home Page(first page) index.html
2. When naming pages and images use only lower case and don't use spaces in between words.
3. To move multiple files, select the first file you want to move, hold down the shift key and select the last file you want to move. All files in between should now be highlighted.

Now the files should now be uploaded onto the "Remote Site". If you should experience any problems give dial-up support a call at 847-594-5111. Access your web site by typing the following in your browser: http://user.mc.net/~username
