mc.net - When SERVICE Matters

WS_FTPLE CONFIGURATION

mc.net allows up to 20 Mb of web space for your personal web site. In order to move the pages and images you created you will need an FTP program. The FTP program represented here is WS_FTPLE.

Download WS_FTPLE HERE: WS_FTP95LE.

1. Launch WS_FTP. You will be presented with the Session Properties dialog box that allows you to connect to an FTP site. If you need to, click on the Connect button (usually on the lower left corner) to bring up the Session Properties.

2. Enter the following items for connecting to your personal web site under the "General" tab. You may need to click on the "New" button if there is a default profile already listed (i.e., WS_FTP):

a. Enter a name for the profile (i.e., Personal Web Page)
b. Host Name/Address = user.mc.net
c. Host Type = Automatic Detect
d. User ID = Your Dial-Up User Name
e. Password = Your Dial-Up Account Password
f. Make sure "Save Pwd" is checked if you don't want to enter your password every time you connect.
g. Account = leave blank
h. Comment = Whatever you like to describe what this connection is for or just leave it blank.

3. You should see something similar to the window below on your screen. First you need to create a directory where you will upload your files. On the "Remote Site" side of the screen click on the "MkDir" button When prompted to enter remote folder name, type "public_html" Then click the "OK" button.

4. Before you can upload your files you need to be in the "public_html" folder that you just created. Do this by double clicking the "public_html" folder.

5. To upload files, just use one of the following options:

Double click on a file name in the left (Local System) window, and it will be uploaded to mc.net, or Hold down your Control key and click on multiple files to select them, then click on the "->" button to transfer them all at once.

To download your files from mc.net, just do the exact opposite - select the files you want to download and click the "<-" button.

Now the files should now be on the "Remote Site", if they are your done!!!! Access your web site by typing the following in your browser: http://user.mc.net/~yourusername

HELPFUL HINTS
